IAESTE is an international association providing foreign internships for
technical students all over the world. Each participating country of IAESTE
has one or more local committees (LC’s). These LC’s organize IAESTE events
and take care of all the administration in their city (our country). They
contact companies to get internships and organize events for students.
IAESTE works with an exchange system: each collected internship in your own
country is exchanged with an internship from another country. For each
student from your country going abroad, a student from abroad comes to your
country.

Besides collecting internships, the Belgian LC’s – Ghent, Brussels and
Leuven – are organizing the summer reception. When foreign students come to
Belgium to do an internship during the summer time, the local committees
provide accommodation and organize events. If you decide perform an
internship yourself, of course the LC of your attending country will be
ready to do the same for you! This means that you will not only get technical
experience in your field of expertise, you will also make a lot of global
contacts and take part in a number of leisure activities ranging from
visiting a pub in the evening to weekend trips towards a neighbouring city
or even country.

In short, IAESTE exists to give students an awesome international
experience!
